Sometimes EVERYONE HURTS!

We forget sometimes how much the world can hurt.   It can hurt people we love … it can hurt people we don’t … and the people caught in the middle.  The world hurts the people who would give anything to never ever get hurt again.

But sometimes the hurt can’t be avoided it’s just coming at us and can’t be stopped.  It’s in us and can’t be seen… or its lying next to us in the dark waiting… but sometimes it doesn’t come at all.  Sometimes we get this other thing sliding down from out of nowhere and it stays just long enough to give us hope.

Sometimes rarely … barely… just when we need it most and expect it least … we get a break!

Mary Shannon, In Plain Sight

Those four walls can be so deceiving.  Make a choice in 2012 to be different than you were the year before.  More kind, more understanding, and more empathetic.

Choose to refuse to judge others regardless of how much you think they NEED to hear your thoughts.

Choose to:

Stop
Turn
Look the speaker in the eye
Listen
Respond in kindness
and
Choose a positive action!

Coach your children to act in these manners as well.

Say, “Thanks for saying sorry,” or “Thanks for your apology.” instead of “that’s okay.”

Teach your children to do the same.  Chances are it’s NOT OKAY; yet we grow up thinking it has to be and we have to accept negative treatement from others… we don’t, and neither do our youth.

Demand of yourself the development of self confidence in its truest, sincerest and most Godly form.
