Last week, this article made its rounds about the inter-web! It was posted on Facebook by more photographers than I care to mention. Heck, I even posted it myself.
I really enjoyed Claire’s spin on the subject… which prompted some thoughts of my own…
What do I pay for that others don’t…?
To whom am I brand loyal?
What is it about these things that I like the most? And why do I keep going back for more? Regardless of the cost?
It is confession time, folks… sit back and enjoy the ride.
- My hair: it isn’t any secret to those that know me well, but others simply may not know that of all my hidden insecurities… my hair ranks right up at the top of the list. Some might state that it is naturally curly, I simply state that it is naturally dysfunctional!
If you are one of the lucky few who have known me for four plus years, you will have certainly noticed a change in my hair in the past two-three years…
- It is colored… well colored and often highlighted.
- Typically it has a style (lest we forget that I am the queen of the birds nest and bobby pins)…
- and form…
- and a great “wash and go and pin” look I can sport for many hours in the humidity…
…all these things due to the amazing work of my wonderful stylist at Trios Salon in Omaha.
Though we may not see it all the time… a trip down memory lane in photos would certainly tell the difference. Regardless of it’s look today (we are in growth transition), it is a dramatic change for the better from yester-year! Days of consistent high humidity, it certainly looks its best believe it or not. One day we are going to lock in a signature look and I will love it for ever and ever and likely quit changing it to new looks I love. Um, Sure… yes, that is right…
Having stated all these things, one must know that I do invest a little bit in my hair these days. Because the look I get has value! I don’t believe I ever leave the salon without spending $50 (including tip) for my hair cut/style, and it is well worth every cent… trust me, I have seen the “before” images.
I have even spent the twenty something on my son’s hair… (he has the same pesky curl, and his hair is course…) and there is a difference — a BIG difference from his 8$ children’s cuts from an unnamed salon. Having his hair cut/styled by a Trio’s gal is worth every copper penny in my pocket.
And lastly, I pay the twelve something, something just to get my baby La-G’s bangs cut… because, case in point. They just do a better job there and I have pictures to prove it.
There is value in what the stylists and Trio’s do! I would gladly pay any amount to have a great experience with great people and those that love me just the same as when I came through the door. And lets be real, sometimes I don’t come in great form… I come as I am and leave looking beautiful!
