The SunRise Travelers :: Starting things anew!

Starting over is HARD!

Starting anew is HARD!

Starting with a different attitude it hard… and alas, there isn’t a starting line (or a finish line 100 meters later)… mostly an abashed mess of dysfunction to muttle through, and just when one feels like the starting has eventually broken – gun fired and the 25 yard line kicks in… the lactic acid begins to form and ones muscles begin to ache. There is almost a morning over the lack of drama that once existed.

Not every process, specifically the process of life and change, is a sprint… it is an arduous, rewarding marathon… where eventually one gets runners high, and coast through on euphoria.

**************************************************************

My morning meditation in my Breakfast with God Book (which by the way is a great buy for 2.99$) today discussed the story of Moses and in Numbers (The children of Israel…journeyed from…the wilderness…toward the sun-rising.  Numbers 21:10-11 KJV) The writing discussed delivery from bondage and the overwhelming joy it brings. And though the story of Moses is specifically related to human bondage… lets relate it to the bondage of our hearts and our minds… dare I assert our way of life.

That bondage could be a number of things in your life:  a bad relationship, a new job, finishing a long-term project… but alas, after one is delivered… the stress of the unknown sets in … the unsettling feelings of change fall to the pit of ones stomach and he or she is forced to deal with stress.  Stress that causes damaging cortisol in ones system. (I combat my own cortisol overload with Shaklee’s Stress Relief Complex since it isn’t a secret that I have alot of stress in my life).  I, like you… TRY SO HARD to seek God during times of stress and storms; yet I know the scripture well enough to know my efforts are half baked.  It is my goal and prayer that my efforts as I continue to grow will be with a more open / broken heart.

**************************************************************

The following expert (taken from the book, Breakfast with God) states:

These travelers were time’s valiant great hearts.  They were journeying on the star road making their way through an inspiring land, a desert wast upheld by hope of a glorious new day, a tomorrow morning, when night with its darkness and shadows would be left far behind.

Travelers whose hopes were fixed on what was before and beyond; men of faith who followed the gleam loyally, right through to the very end; road-makers, presenting an unparalleled example of courage and bravery; men of vision, always looking ahead, never behind.

**************************************************************

Think today about what holds you in bondage away from your God, and how you can survive the onward march seeking Him.

My plans to stay “fixed on that which is far beyond” may be different from yours, but it is my prayer that we are headed in the same direction through the narrow gates into Heaven.  The harsh reality is Christ was Lord or a Lunatic… there isn’t an in between!  If we are headed to Eternity with our Lord and Savior… what choices do we make to ensure our efforts seeking God aren’t half baked?

Tips on Choosing Your Omaha Photographer

1. Never Choose a Photographer on Price alone.
2. Get recommendations from friends and appropriate colleagues
3. Review not only an online portfolio, but images from an entire gig.
4. Refuse to shop for a photographer based on price.
5. Define your wants and needs, communicate the same to your photographer.
6. Request your photographer’s advice. Chances are, they know… what to wear, who could do your make-up, hair, etc. And yes, men, this applies to you as well.
7. Unless you know your photographer well, CONTACT them IN PERSON before booking.
8. Book with a great creator of images.
9. Know that Great Images take time; allow the time it takes.

Enjoy the amazing aftermath!

How do you sleep at night?

Truth is … not well these days.  It seems the night comes and my body thinks it is day and fights sleep as though it were the Nazi regime coming upon my body and soul.  Standing in the lines as though on the battle fields of the Civil War, and firing shots of sleeplessness my way through the wee hours of the morning.

The ongoing debate within my own mind revolves around all things media related:  chemical imbalance, depression, change of seasons, stress, my aversion to my coffee addiction, etc., but I simply cannot wrap my brain around all these things since I have been so focused on affirming within my own mind all things positive, cleansing my body at the cellular level and refocusing my addiction from coffee to (non-addictive) Choffy which we know relates to all things good.   With all its antioxidant fighting power, Choffy is right up there with wine, blueberries, and acai for health  benefits.  It is my new coffee, and my life won’t ever be the same.

I haven’t had coffee in well over seven days….and though some might attribute my lack of sleep to lack of coffee… but that logic simply won’t resolve to any sane person.

It took my a while, but my keen brain finally moved to a new ideal to remedy my inability to find rest during the dark hours.  It is Shaklee‘s Gentle Sleep Complex, which has been in my supply of natural remedies for well over a year, and I have even used it on occasion; but the insomnia I have been facing is so extreme… I took a few extra tonight.   To that end… I am headed off to spend some late night hours in meditation using the prompts from Sunset with God which, for two dollars is a great buy, by the way.  Do the one day and ship for free… buy it… it is so worth it.

How bad do you? | Cell Scrubbing - [...] How do you sleep at night? [...]

Amazing Quotations :: via Kelly Cutrone :: “Most people don’t see compassion as a chic thing to aspire to.”

Following a late night introduction to Kell on Earth, and a brief affair with Bravo‘s DVRed episodes, I read Kelly’s first book “If you have to cry go outside” and loved it!  Not going to lie… thought it was the next best thing to the Sermon on the Mount… but alas despite our differences in spiritual depth… I continue to follow her on twitter and admire her stand for “the Mother” and have adopted many of her ideals with her spiritual practices to move forward in my relationship with God.

It wouldn’t take a genius to figure out that I likely made the Kindle investment in “Normal Get’s you nowhere” a little late; but alas, I did.

Then… I read it in about a day!

Once again, I was enthralled… almost from the word go… I learned new things either because a) I had failed to pay attention enough to notice previously, or b) I simply wasn’t presented with the information!  Ultimately, one could assert repeatedly that it was option “b;” but… being a single working mother with “three jobs” and two children, I may have to be accountable to option “a.”

Skipping forward to what struck me the most… Kelly’s stated in her book that “Most people don’t  see compassion as a chic thing to aspire to.”

I read this on my lunch break one day at Panera Bread while teaching at Millard West High School… and as we approached the end of class I was able to grasp a teachable moment and prompt thirty of our greatest youth and ask them how they felt about that statement.  The ensuing discussion resulted in consensus that it is a harshly true and extremely sad assertion.

A statement that brought me to my knees, before my God — reflecting on my past years experiences… and hoping that I could be a better person, a more complete person… and a more compassionate person and lead others to see that compassion, and empathy are a chic thing to which one should aspire.

It reminded me of my Christmas card of 2010 (which BTW would be a great message to read)… and comment on, I would love to hear your thoughts…

My God is breaking me…

Molding me…

Shaping me…

and has a plan for me to advocate for the little people, (I think)…

but alas…

He has a plan for me to ask questions before drawing conclusions, and to withhold judgement at all costs.

He has a plan for me to teach others the Compassion is CHIC… starting many days ago… and I am learning!  Day by day as I attack my environmental toxins with my Choffy and Isagenix… I am attempting to clean my brain and cleanse neurally as well.  Stay tuned on more for that update! :)

Three Good Things Thursdays :: We should do this every week!

My gratitude journal has prompted me to define three great things that happened during my daily interaction and why they were good or great despite how little they are.

I am coming back next week to fill this out… because… honestly, I am struggling with this right now.  Working from home and spending so much time alone doesn’t allow for many positive interactions, but I am trying.  Perhaps, I should attempt to keep a list throughout the week and blog about it on Thursday…

Check back for the updates:
