Starting over is HARD!
Starting anew is HARD!
Starting with a different attitude it hard… and alas, there isn’t a starting line (or a finish line 100 meters later)… mostly an abashed mess of dysfunction to muttle through, and just when one feels like the starting has eventually broken – gun fired and the 25 yard line kicks in… the lactic acid begins to form and ones muscles begin to ache. There is almost a morning over the lack of drama that once existed.
Not every process, specifically the process of life and change, is a sprint… it is an arduous, rewarding marathon… where eventually one gets runners high, and coast through on euphoria.

My morning meditation in my Breakfast with God Book (which by the way is a great buy for 2.99$) today discussed the story of Moses and in Numbers (The children of Israel…journeyed from…the wilderness…toward the sun-rising. Numbers 21:10-11 KJV) The writing discussed delivery from bondage and the overwhelming joy it brings. And though the story of Moses is specifically related to human bondage… lets relate it to the bondage of our hearts and our minds… dare I assert our way of life.
That bondage could be a number of things in your life: a bad relationship, a new job, finishing a long-term project… but alas, after one is delivered… the stress of the unknown sets in … the unsettling feelings of change fall to the pit of ones stomach and he or she is forced to deal with stress. Stress that causes damaging cortisol in ones system. (I combat my own cortisol overload with Shaklee’s Stress Relief Complex since it isn’t a secret that I have alot of stress in my life). I, like you… TRY SO HARD to seek God during times of stress and storms; yet I know the scripture well enough to know my efforts are half baked. It is my goal and prayer that my efforts as I continue to grow will be with a more open / broken heart.

The following expert (taken from the book, Breakfast with God) states:
These travelers were time’s valiant great hearts. They were journeying on the star road making their way through an inspiring land, a desert wast upheld by hope of a glorious new day, a tomorrow morning, when night with its darkness and shadows would be left far behind.
Travelers whose hopes were fixed on what was before and beyond; men of faith who followed the gleam loyally, right through to the very end; road-makers, presenting an unparalleled example of courage and bravery; men of vision, always looking ahead, never behind.

Think today about what holds you in bondage away from your God, and how you can survive the onward march seeking Him.
My plans to stay “fixed on that which is far beyond” may be different from yours, but it is my prayer that we are headed in the same direction through the narrow gates into Heaven. The harsh reality is Christ was Lord or a Lunatic… there isn’t an in between! If we are headed to Eternity with our Lord and Savior… what choices do we make to ensure our efforts seeking God aren’t half baked?
