I have a love of Fine Art Wedding Photography… :: Norfolk Wedding Photographer

This entry is part 1 of 4 in the series Bethany and Andrew :: Ah, the love!

It simply is true… and at my last gig as a second shooter was way fun.

It was a military wedding in Norfolk, Nebraska and one simply couldn’t have asked for better.

Apparently, Bethany and Andrew met in Iraq while deployed with the Army.   Though I am uncertain of the entire dynamic of their relationship, what brought them to the alter in Norfolk on Friday, the fourth of June, 2010 to exchange wedding vows must have been something truly special.

It didn’t take a genius to discern that their love for one another was grounded in a faith in God, and that they both enjoyed athletic activities.  (Andrew is a rugby player for the Lincoln Hooks, I believe).

The day for me began on the journey up Nebraska highway 275 toward Norfolk.  We drove out of Omaha, through Elkhorn and Valley, to West Point, then through  Beemer and Wisner and on into Norfolk.  It was a good journey with my good pal, Lani.  It was a great day for a wedding.

As with all weddings, we began with the details of the day… the dress, the shoes, the rings, the trinkets… they were amazing.

The Army Saber made an excellent resource for creating some incredible shots of the rings.  I loved that thing!

After many a great ceremony photo, we ventured out to create some fine art formals… (fyi, I really don’t know what they are called, but they aren’t the images that you see from most photographers when you think of “formal” wedding photos.  First we began with the old abandon homes… I love how the wedding party just played along while we did our thing…

Then, Lani took the girls and I got the guys.   They were too much fun!  Considering that I was dripping in sweat, they were real troopers in their gear and Andrew in his wool uniform was definitely toughing it out.

On the way back as the groomsmen were piling into the back of a truck, Andrew and I captured this.  I am certain there will never be another, but I love, love, LOVER it.

And then, the reception… stay tuned!

P.S.  Again this is a wedding I shot for Ms. Lani.
